Complete Landscape Design

1. I will provide a total design plan for part or your entire property that maximizes the strengths of your site and combines plantings appropriate to your environment. The “Right Plant, Right Place” is my guiding principle.
2. While measuring the area to be updated, I will take photographs to serve as reference and documentation.
3. I will draw a Base Map and draft overlays of one to three Preliminary Plans for your feedback.
4. After input from you, I will complete a Final Plan which graphically depicts the layout of your space, the plant material at their mature size and the hardscapes.The plan also includes a list of all the new plant materials, with both scientific and common names, container sizes and any special notes that may be important to the choice of specific plants.

   If desired, I can prepare a Plant Description Notebook with color photos of each plant along with information pertaining to your plants’ growth habits and care.

Installation Support

If you need assistance to install your custom design, I can refer you to suitable licensed landscape contractors. He/she will work with you to choose specific materials for the hardscape elements and construct any walkways, desired structures, fences and retaining walls.

Whether you prefer to do the work yourself or use a contractor, I will be available during installation to assist with the plant layout and can serve as liaison with the contractor. This enables adherence to the plan while accommodating fluctuations in plant availability and other last-minute changes.  I can also offer tips on proper planting methods.

Existing Landscape Consultation

You may simply desire advice on updating or refreshing certain areas of your property. I can accompany you on a walk-through and offer ideas for selective removal or relocation of plants, recommend additional shrubs or perennials, and suggest ways to more fully enjoy your garden space. In some instances, I will take time in my studio to do quick sketches or more research.

Pruning and Maintenance

I am I am available to consult on the seasonal maintenance needs of your plantings. I can also provide hands-on advice regarding pruning of your shrubs and trees to keep them looking their best.  If you would prefer, I can schedule yearly pruning visits and perform the work on my own.

Personal Shopper

I can accompany you to the best local specialty nurseries to help find appropriate or unique trees, shrubs and perennials for each area of your yard. Or if you prefer, I can procure plants and arrange for their delivery. This service is billed at an affordable hourly rate.

Container Planting Design

Every yard can be enhanced by custom container plantings. Using your existing containers or sourcing from a wide variety of new pots and planters, I will design plantings to best complement your individual tastes and garden style.

Whether you desire colorful seasonal annuals, year-round interest, or unique mixed plantings, I can bring you the latest in plant varieties and container trends.

Please note that each yard varies–some work can be fairly straightforward while other situations involve significant time, thought and planning. It is best to consult with me on the pricing structure for your project.
